Are there any cities or towns on Antarctica?
No, no-one lives in Antarctica because human are unable of residing in such a cold habitation. The outer part of the continent has few scientific bases(Indian research center at Antarctica are Bharati, Maitri and Dakshin Gangotri.). Several countries claim to found Antarctica but it is still a point to prove. all the activities in this continent governed by Antarctic Treaty system, which was signed by 12 countries(Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Chile, France, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States and USSR) in 1959 whose scientific bases has been active at that time around Antarctica. The total area of this continent is 14 million km² which is double than the Australia. Antarctica is also known as white continent because the whole continent is covered by show. Speaking about its cold climate the reason behind is that Arctic is in north pole and Antarctica is in south which is far from the reach of sunlight.
Antarctica has always been white but global warming has melted the thick layer of ice in the continent which have affected water level in the oceans. Apart from melting of ice it has many dangerous impact on the continent such as the ice of the continent is turning green. scientist of Cambridge university has found large scale of algae in the Antarctic peninsula.
What are algae?
Algae are generally microscopic organisms, are usually thought of as simple aquatic plants( plant that grows in or near water and is either emergent, submergent, or floating.) which do not have roots, stems or leaves and have primitive methods of reproduction( A single parent passes all genetic material to the next generation).

Algae grows about a meter in three or four weeks. In Antarctica algae is growing at much higher rate, that major part of the Antarctic peninsular has become light green and is visible from the space. Noting the facts it is important to understand why algae is growing in Antarctica, it is because of melting of snow, which is a effect of carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere .i.e global warming. Melting of snow in that region has given algae a perfect environment to grow. If no approach is taken to improve the condition then it is possible that whole continent will drown in its own melted ice. The condition in which these algae are growing will also lead to growth of other harmful species.

Conclusion :
Whole world is fighting against Corona virus, and whose Mistake is it, its ours. water pollution, air pollution, noise pollution ,land pollution, etc. all of these is our mistake. There is a saying nature gives enough to fulfill human needs not its greed. so, I guess we have taken too much from the nature that it is dying, the two way relationship between human and nature has been broken, there is very little we can do now. Over the years all we have done is debate, seminars, establishing organisation to save earth from climate change but we have nothing in action all we have is thousands and thousands of words. Hope we can do our best to save our earth by not harming it anymore. Global Warming can be ended and we can rewind what has happen to Antarctica.
